South Africa Vs Pakistan 15/03/2013 - Results Review and Statistical Highlights

The 2nd One Day International (ODI) Cricket match between South Africa and Pakistan held on 15/03/2013 saw a Pakistan fightback and a convincing win by them after being down and out in their first one day international held on 10/03/2013.The match for a short time was interrupted by rain and was reduced to 44 overs.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bat but struggled throughout their innings and lost wickets consistently.At one stage they were 62 runs for a loss of 5 wickets.A decent partnership between Farhaan Behardien and Robin Peterson steadied the innings to an extent.There was then a rain interruption which reduced the match to 44 overs and the Proteas managed to only make 191 runs in their allocated overs.

Mohammad Irfan wrecked havoc picking up four wickets and was well supported by Saeed Ajmal,Junaid Khan and Mohammed Hafeez who picked up 2 wickets to keep the Proteas in check.

When Pakistan came into back apart from the initial hiccup where they lost Nasir Jamshed looked to be comfortable.The South Africans toiled hard while bowling and tried to pull things back by picking up quick wickets and putting the touring team in a spot of bother at a score of 69 for 4 but at the end of the day a steady Partnership between Mishbah-Ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik who made 57 and 35 runs each ensured they took their team home.

South African Bowling didn't look too bad.Apart from Robin peterson who picked up two wickets everyone else was decent but the touring team were a bit better and won the match comfortably in the end by 6 wickets.

Pakistan have now leveled the 5 match ODI Series 1-1 with 3 matches still to go.

Mohammad Irfran was selected as a player of the match for his four wickets and was undoubtedly the highlight of Pakistan's bowling.
